What is Plant Spirit Moxibustion?

We invite you into the magic of Plant Spirit Moxibustion in Alchemical Treatments, where you can develop a living relationship with one of Chinese Medicine's oldest allies and learn the methods we use for calling that ally directly into your treatment room or your life.

Moxibustion is not simply a warming technique. It is a conversation with Artemisia Vulgaris (Mugwort), the primary herb in a technique thousands of years old that may even predate acupuncture itself. Mugwort has been a strong ally for healing across many cultures for as long as can be remembered. In Chinese Medicine, we call upon it to nourish the Blood and warm the Qi. But it is even more than that. Chinese Medicine holds that Spirit circulates through the body via the Blood, and mugwort has a unique relationship to Blood when used in moxibustion. Its Spirit communicates with yours, and can assist with things like anemia, fatigue, and depression. When we work with moxa, we are not simply applying heat to a point. We are inviting a plant ally into the treatment.

In this workshop, you'll explore:

• Artemisia Vulgaris as both plant and Spirit — its botanical nature and long history as an ally to healers
• The layered ways it moves Qi, warms the Channels, and supports transformation in the body
