Solstice is a powerful time for accessing your inner guidance. Summer is the Fire season—the season of the Heart and the Shen/spirit, your guide. It's not the season for turning inward (that's Winter!). It is the season for blooming—being seen and also seeing clearly. What you are becoming? What is your spirit is asking of you? Where is your life actually pointing?

The mid-summer heat can also be agitating to the Spirit/Shen, which lives in the Heart. When it's unsettled, it struggles to offer this guidance. In the busyness and brightness of this season — the clarity we are looking for becomes harder to hear. We feel scattered, overstimulated, and like we are moving too fast but not necessarily forward. Chinese Medicine is very helpful for heat-related symptoms (difficulty sleep, feeling scattered or overstimulated, feeling agitated and anxious, heartburn, or pain due to inflammation, to name a few).
